Tom Cunningham was elected to Braintree District Council in 2011 and since 2015 has represented Great Notley and Black Notley. Tom is also a member of Great Notley Parish Council.
Tom was made a Deputy Cabinet Member in December 2014 and has served as Cabinet Member for Economic Development since May 2015 with added responsibility for Infrastructure since May 2019. Tom became Deputy Leader of Braintree District Council in May 2019 and in addition currently serves as the Chairman of the Braintree District Youth Strategy Group and Chair of the Braintree District Education and Skills Board. Tom also serves as the Council’s representative on the Haven Gateway Partnership and the North Essex Economic Strategy.
